On the 11th of November 2015, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, Neil Critchley, began his attempt at the Hell of a Hill Marathon, climbing 6000ft over Winter Hill and Rivington in Bolton in 8 laps and spanning over 26.2 miles.
Neil chose to do this in aid of Bolton Hospice, a local cause which has previously been supported by KBS Corporate, raising £500 on a fund raising day in 2014.
Given that Neil has previous experience of gruelling challenges, completing the UK Ironman on more than one occasion, he decided to take the challenge a step further pushing his body to the limits attempting to do the race for 3 consecutive days, which demanded 18,000 feet of climbing and a total of 78 miles covered.
To date, Neil has raised £300 for the hospice and will look to increase this in April by taking on 2 further challenges; the London marathon, his 40th marathon, which Neil is aiming to complete as close to his personal best time of 3 hours 12 minutes.
The 2nd of his challenges for 2016 is dancing. Neil will be stepping well out of his comfort zone of trainers and lycra and onto the varnished wooden floor, dancing the night away in a competition based on the popular TV show, Strictly Come Dancing. He has chosen to perform the Argentine tango in front of 1,500 people.
KBS Corporate would like wish Neil the best of luck and have every confidence that he will continue to raise a great amount for as superb cause.
