Glenfield Kitchens acquired by Jay Ghaghda

A family-run business with nearly 50 years’ experience in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom design and fitting has been sold in a deal advised upon by KBS Corporate.

Leicester-based Glenfield Kitchens, which began trading in 1977, has a showroom that boasts an impressive selection of designs, featuring high-quality worktops, doors, and wall and floor tiles.

Glenfield Kitchens, with 10 staff members in total, has its own team of installers, while plumbing and electrical work is subcontracted to fully qualified tradesmen.

The company has been sold to investor Jay Ghaghda, the Managing Director of Bluebird Care Leicester and who is also a director of Seasay Ltd, which specialises in residential and commercial property acquisitions as well as small developments.

“The buyer and seller have a personal connection but wouldn’t have linked up had it not been for KBS,” said Paul Liptrott, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, who advised on the transaction.

“It can be very difficult for some sellers to find the right buyer, but the marketing process undertaken by KBS Corporate ensured we found a local businessman who could uphold the company’s strong reputation.”

Explaining the complexities of the transaction, Paul added: “The drafting of the Share Purchase Agreement was very challenging and required a lot of steps which were not typical for most deals.
