Julian Coy to head Corporate Finance division

Julian Coy has been appointed to head KBS Corporate Finance in Manchester as it aims to become a major player in the UK M&A mid-market.

Julian has a wealth of experience in advising on deals from £5m to £50m and boasts an excellent corporate finance pedigree.

He was previously head of corporate finance for Manchester and the North at BDO and more recently ran his own boutique practice, CHA Corporate Finance, last year completing the cross border sale of Dutch based UXUS to the US listed giant InterPublic Group (NYSE).

He has particular affinity with entrepreneurs after buying into, growing and then successfully selling North West and US based Promatic Group giving him a unique M&A perspective on deals.
He is joined by his former BDO colleague, John Hunt, who has taken on the role of director at KBS Corporate Finance.

KBS Corporate Finance operates in the mid-market, advising owner managers on deals valued between £5m and £25m. It is a division of Bolton-based KBS Corporate.
KBS Corporate said it has seen huge growth in M&A activity in the mid-market over the past 12 months and recently completed a number of complex, high multiple deals, including the £9m sale of Warrington-based structural testing specialist Testconsult to stock market listed James Fisher and Sons PLC.

KBS Corporate Managing Director John Rigby said: “The M&A market is extremely buoyant and there is renewed appetite among companies to do deals as the economic recovery gathers momentum.
KBS Corporate Finance offers our larger corporate clients a team of high quality advisers and we are pleased to welcome Julian and John on board to develop it into a major player in the M&A mid-market.”

Julian added: “There is a growing gap in the UK market for a national M&A service built around experienced corporate finance professionals who can accelerate deals and maximise shareholder rewards. This is evidenced by the fact that we already have a large number of excellent clients across the UK from within a diverse range of niche sectors including technology, specialist recruitment, renewable energy, online, offshore and testing and inspection . I am delighted to join KBS Corporate Finance and look forward to growing the team of specialists to help our clients achieve optimal value for their businesses.”
