Intellitec acquired by Scorpion Automotive

Intellitec accelerates growth following sale to Scorpion Automotive
Intellitec, a producer of electronic systems for the specialist vehicle market, is poised for “future expansion” following the company’s sale to Scorpion Automotive.
Paul Smith, Technical Director of Intellitec, is remaining in his role to support the anticipated growth as part of a group which operates internationally across the automotive technology sector.
Based on the Wirral, Intellitec specialises in the production of fully engineered and assembled solutions for the blue light (emergency services) market. The company holds a significant market share and is established as the supplier of choice amongst prestigious
public- and private-sector clients.
In a deal advised by Jay Singh, KBS Corporate Finance Director, with legal advice provided by K3 Law, Intellitec was sold to Scorpion, a Chorley-based provider of vehicle security solutions and a trusted partner to leading global manufacturers including BMW, Subaru
and Yamaha.
Intellitec’s strong reputation in the market and additional expertise creates opportunities for Scorpion from both a product and market perspective, as it executes its strategy to become the leading provider of vehicle security and fleet technology solutions.
“We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Intellitec by the Scorpion Automotive Group, which truly aligns with our ethos of UK-led technologies and in-house manufacturing, thus supporting local jobs,” said Paul Smith.
“Seeing the growth Scorpion has gone through over the last few years and the technologies they are working with convinced us they are the right partner for our future expansion.
“We are looking forward to launching many new cutting edge Intellitec/Scorpion products into our current market sectors and alternative expansion markets.”
Andrew Jeffrey, owner of Scorpion Group, commented: “The acquisition of Intellitec represents another important milestone in Scorpion’s growth journey. As we continue to evolve our business, expanding our capabilities and diversifying our offering remains a key
strategic priority.
“Intellitec brings highly complementary expertise and creates exciting opportunities to strengthen our position in B2B markets while enhancing the value we provide to our customers.”
KBS Corporate’s Jay Singh was delighted to bring the transaction to a successful conclusion.
“The shareholders of Intellitec have built up an excellent business and are well respected in the industry for quality and reliability,” said Jay.
“Scorpion has a similar ethos, and the strategic fit between the businesses ensures the prospects of the combined entities look extremely positive.
“It has been a pleasure to advise Paul and the shareholders on the sale of the business.”
