EDNX joins a growing network with Viatel
EDNX, which provides “meticulous networking solutions” across sectors including finance, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, has been sold to market-leading Irish technology group Viatel in a deal advised by KBS Corporate.
Based in Combermere, Shropshire and incorporated in 2017, EDNX is an IT consultancy firm offering deep technical expertise across enterprise networking, network infrastructure, campus networks, secure IoT, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, SD-Access and application-centric infrastructure.
In a transaction advised by Jacob Lord, KBS Corporate Associate Director, EDNX was sold to Dublin-based Viatel, a complete business comms and digital services provider. Viatel has nearly 30 years’ experience delivering managed security, networking, cloud and communications services.
The acquisition significantly strengthens Viatel’s capability to support organisations operating in highly regulated, compliance-intensive environments. It also strengthens the group’s position as Ireland’s largest secure network provider and accelerates its expansion across the UK market.
“Joining Viatel gives our customers access to broader capabilities while preserving the technical excellence and customer focus that have defined EDNX,” said David Ratcliffe, CEO of EDNX.
“We see strong alignment in our cultures, ambitions and long-term commitment to customer success.”
In their announcement of the deal, Viatel referred to the “meticulous networking solutions” of EDNX which create “a more powerful proposition for customers across Ireland and the UK”.
Paul Rellis, Viatel’s CEO, commented: “EDNX brings exceptional expertise and a strong track record of delivering enterprise networking solutions in some of the most demanding environments.
“Their technical capability complements our existing strengths in connectivity, cybersecurity and managed services, while creating new opportunities to bring advanced networking services to our customers.
“I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the EDNX team, customers and partners. Together, we are creating an even stronger business for our customers and our people.”
KBS Corporate’s Jacob Lord thanked colleague Elliot Wilkes (Senior Research Analyst) for his work in sourcing Viatel as the acquirer, and fellow K3 Advisory Group company K3 Law for legal services provided during the transaction process.
“I’m delighted to have successfully advised on this transaction and supported our clients in achieving their goals,” said Jacob. “From the outset, it was clear that all parties were motivated in achieving a positive outcome, which enabled the deal to progress efficiently and collaboratively.
“The strong engagement, professionalism and responsiveness shown throughout the process were key factors in delivering a successful transaction within the desired timeframe.
“It’s been a pleasure working alongside the vendor, purchaser and their respective advisers to bring this deal to a conclusion. I would like to congratulate all parties involved and thank them for their trust and cooperation throughout the process.
“We wish the purchaser every success in the future and we are confident the business is well positioned for continued growth under its new ownership.”
