Car-Chem acquired by Leading Solvent Supplies

A sparkling post-sale future awaits Car-Chem
Car-Chem, an award-winning manufacturer and international distributor of vehicle care products, has been sold in a deal advised upon by KBS Corporate.
Established in 2010 by Luke Fletcher, who has operated the company ever since, Nottingham-based Car-Chem supplies high-quality car cleaning and detailing products, priding itself on an exceptional level of customer service.
Winner of numerous industry awards, including Best Automotive Shampoo, Car-Chem was marketed for sale with Luke seeking an exit strategy to a buyer that would continue the growth he has achieved since founding the company.
In a deal led by George Barnes, KBS Associate Corporate Director, Car-Chem was sold to Leading Solvent Supplies, a Yorkshire-based major manufacturer and distributor of solvents and chemicals used in sectors including automotive, aviation, industrial and rail.
Announcing the deal, Leading Solvents Supplies commented: “Car-Chem has built a strong reputation for delivering superior, professional products to loyal customers across the globe.
“By integrating their expertise and skilled team with our own, we aim to enhance our product portfolio, offering a wider range of car detailing solutions to better serve our growing clientele.
“This acquisition is part of our ongoing commitment to expanding our product range and reaching new markets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. We are excited to embark on this new chapter.”
George Barnes was delighted to bring the transaction process to a successful outcome for both Car-Chem and Leading Solvent Supplies.
“I’m very pleased for both Luke and the Leading Solvents team,” said George. “There was substantial interest in the opportunity across the sector in terms of chemical manufacturing and distribution markets.
“The acquisition is very positive for Car-Chem as the company can expand its product range, increase manufacturing capacity and continue to grow as a leader in the automotive chemical industry.”
George expressed thanks to his KBS Corporate colleagues Aaron McWilliams, Research Analyst, who approached buyers and generated a competitive bidding environment, and Tamsin James, Corporate Documentation, for creating the marketing materials to promote the opportunity, as well as Roger Harcourt and Renee Freeman of Shakespeare Martineau for providing legal guidance.
