ALP Supported Living Services acquired by Iris Care Group
ALP set to scale new heights following sale to Iris Care
ALP Supported Living Services’ sale has enabled its acquirer, Iris Care Group, to expand one of its key divisions into Wales.
A high-quality provider of supported living accommodation for adults, ALP was incorporated in 2005 and comprises four South Wales premises – two in Newport, and the others in Bargoed and Nelson.
ALP works with local authorities to support people with mental health challenges, learning and physical disabilities and vulnerable adults unable to live alone.
Although Iris Care is based in Cardiff and is the largest specialist complex care group operating in Wales and the South West of England, its Supported Living division previously consisted of 31 services located in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
With the acquisition of ALP, in a transaction led by Nathan Leah, KBS Corporate Associate Director, the division now extends into Wales by adding four more facilities.
This increases Iris Care Group’s existing team of more than 1,700 staff and 58 services, which also comprise specialist hospitals, residential homes, a specialist educational needs college and nursing care services.
Andrea and Leanne Bayliss, Directors of ALP Supported Living Services, commented: “We reflected positively following our initial meeting with Iris Care Group. We believe they share the same values as ALP in terms of wishing to provide a high-quality support service, matched with very good standards of accommodation for vulnerable individuals.
“We have no that doubt that Iris Care will further enhance the support ALP Supported Living Services provides.”
Andy Jones, Iris Care Group’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to acquire ALP, enabling us to deliver high-quality supported living services across South Wales. With such a strong Supported Living division already established in England, we are excited to expand our knowledge and expertise to deliver the same outstanding services in Wales.
“As our organisation continues to grow, we are actively seeking to acquire more businesses which further expand our network and service offering.”
KBS Corporate’s Nathan Leah also believes the collaboration will bring a host of mutual benefits to both ALP and Iris Care.
“I’m delighted to have supported the shareholders of ALP Supported Living through the transaction,” said Nathan. “Iris Care Group are an outstanding acquirer and we are all very confident the business will only continue to progressively develop under their ownership.
“A special thanks as always to Mackrell Solicitors, as well as Everett King, DMH Stallard and Hazlewoods for their collaboration and diligence throughout the transaction.”
