D-Mec services acquired by Empower Group

KBS Corporate has been praised for its “very reassuring” guidance by the owner of D-Mec Services following the company’s sale to Empower Group.

D-Mec, which delivers end-to-end HVAC solutions across three South East counties, was founded almost 30 years ago by Paul Dowdeswell and his brother, John.

When John retired in 2021, Paul became the sole shareholder of the Leighton Buzzard-based business which specialises in air conditioning, heat pumps and ventilation services.

The company has built a reputation as a trusted partner to commercial and industrial clients throughout Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, working across the healthcare, education, aerospace and manufacturing sectors.

Paul decided the time had arrived to facilitate his own retirement plans and instructed KBS to sell the company, with Charlie Neville, Corporate Deal Executive, serving as lead adviser.

D-Mec was sold to Empower Group, which was founded in 2025 by Denis Piffaretti, Florian Kronawitter and Nick Manning with the aim of becoming a UK market leader in technical services.
