Healthcare building specialists form an Elite partnership

Buildings management specialist Elite Group has been sold to healthcare construction company MTX Contracts in a transaction advised by KBS Corporate.

Formed in 2009 and based in Baildon, West Yorkshire, Elite Group is a facilities management and engineering services provider. The group’s offering incorporates compliance, fit-out construction, and mechanical and electrical services.

Luke Rae, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, advised on a transaction in which MTX identified Elite Group as the ideal partner to strengthen its maintenance, small works and facilities management capabilities to support existing healthcare clients and the wider NHS estate.

Founded in 2002 and based in Handforth, Cheshire, MTX is a family-owned construction and engineering company which has grown to become a leading national specialist in the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of hospital facilities.

MTX, which currently directly employs more than 85 people, was attracted to Elite Group as an acquisition opportunity by the close alignment of the respective companies’ culture, service offering and growth ambitions.

“We are delighted to welcome Elite Group into the MTX family,” said David Hartley, Managing Director of MTX Contracts. “Their impressive achievements, strong culture and technical capability make them a natural fit for our business.

“Together, we are well positioned to support the evolving needs of the NHS estate while creating new opportunities for our teams and clients alike. This marks the start of an exciting new chapter for both organisations.”

With the NHS reporting a maintenance backlog valued at more than £16bn, the combined capability of MTX and Elite presents a significant opportunity to support healthcare organisations in addressing critical estate requirements.

The acquisition will allow both businesses to respond to increased demand, share expertise, and drive sustainable long-term growth.

Daniel Bowman has been appointed as Managing Director of Elite Group.

KBS Corporate’s Luke Rae commented: “I’m delighted that the transaction has been successfully concluded and I wish all parties the very best in their future collaboration.”
