Tusk Lifting acquired by First Integrated Solutions

New ownership can lift Tusk to greater heights
KBS Corporate has overseen the seven-figure sale of Tusk Lifting, which has four depots in northern England and Scotland, to First Integrated Solutions.
Tusk Lifting specialises in the hire, sale, servicing, inspection and testing of lifting equipment to numerous industries around the UK. Based in Stockton-on-Tees, the company’s other locations are in Liverpool, Hull and Glasgow.
All of Tusk Lifting’s staff have transferred over to Aberdeen-based First Integrated Solutions, which means the combined business will employ over 100 people across its five sites and have a turnover of more than £15million.
First Integrated Solutions is an equipment rental specialist with 20,000 types of plant, tools and equipment available to hire and 800 customers worldwide. The joint client base will span the construction, manufacturing, oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.
In acquiring Tusk Lifting from its parent company Mammoet, which is part of Dutch conglomerate SHV Holdings, First Integrated confirmed the transaction had been an undisclosed seven-figure deal.
The combined business is looking to invest an additional £3million over the next five years to ensure it offers “the best and safest equipment at the most competitive rates”.
Kevin Chalmers, Managing Director of Tusk Lifting, said: “I’m truly delighted with the new ownership. It was clear from the moment we started this journey that both companies have aligned missions and goals.
“There is a long-term vision in place which is hugely exciting and with the backing of First Integrated Solutions, we will have access to more resources, equipment and a broader network.
“The partnership will enable us to innovate faster, serve our clients better and expand our horizons.”
Martin Suttie, Managing Director of First Integrated Solutions, added: “By coming together with Tusk Lifting, we will now be able to grow our market share throughout the UK and this deal allows us to diversify the industries we serve. It also brings additional services to Tusk, allowing it to build on its industry-leading lifting business.
“We already share a number of customers throughout the UK and this deal gives us a fantastic platform to grow our market share across multiple sectors throughout the UK.”
Matthew Sibley, KBS Corporate Associate Director, co-ordinated the transaction and agreed with Kevin Chalmers’ comments that the process had been collaborative and harmonious throughout.
“The seller and buyer had instant chemistry from their introductory call,” said Matthew. “It’s clear that both parties will enjoy a fruitful partnership going forward.”
