Investment secured to drive Safety Shield Global’s growth

Safety Shield Global’s search for investment to drive rapid growth in the business has come to fruition with a new private equity partner.

Founded in 2018 and based in Winsford, Cheshire, Safety Shield is the market leader in AI human-form recognition systems used in industrial environments.

The company’s award-winning safety and security technology for plant machinery is utilised by clients across a range of sectors such as construction, infrastructure and energy.

Its large international client base, which extends to North America, includes a number of blue-chip organisations, OEMs, contractors and plant hire companies seeking higher industrial safety standards.

In a transaction advised by George Barnes, KBS Corporate Associate Director, Safety Shield has received substantial investment from H2 Equity Partners.

A statement from H2 read: “Following the investment, the management team of Jonathan Guest and Paul Westmacott will continue to lead the business and work closely with H2 to deliver Safety Shield’s ambitious growth strategy.

“The strategy focuses on accelerated sales expansion and the continued investment in Safety Shield’s market-leading AI solutions to help improve safety standards for its customers.”

H2 Equity Partners, founded in 1991, invests in mid-sized companies in the UK and Ireland which have significant growth or improvement potential.

KBS Corporate’s George Barnes commented: “It was a pleasure to work with the Safety Shield Global management team on this transaction.

“Safety Shield’s growth story has been a remarkable journey and they have developed several solutions which are changing health and safety across multiple industries.

“H2 Equity Partners’ investment will allow management to accelerate growth domestically and internationally. We look forward to following Safety Shield’s continued success.”
