Double Diamond Delivery acquired by Spherica

KBS delivers key investment for ambitious tech firm
Technology consultancy Double Diamond Delivery’s desire for new ownership to stimulate growth has been facilitated by a strategic partnership with Spherica Business Solutions – a route increasingly explored by founders considering how to sell a business without stepping away from day-to-day leadership.
Founded by Olly Lock, incorporated in 2021 and based in Bath, Double Diamond offers extensive experience in technology-enabled change, structured delivery, solution design, and operational improvement.
Double Diamond provides business transformation solutions to clients in a range of market sectors including local authorities, housing associations and healthcare. Its sister company, Double Diamond Recruitment, provides supplementary recruitment services for Double Diamond Delivery’s clients.
In a transaction advised by Will Griffiths, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, a major stake in Double Diamond was acquired by Spherica, a Birmingham-based technology and IT managed services provider which enables organisations to modernise technology, maximise performance, and fully leverage AI and automation.
“We are thrilled to announce we have selected Spherica as our new strategic partner,” said Olly Lock, who remains as Double Diamond’s CEO. “Although Spherica are acquiring a majority shareholding and this is officially us being ‘acquired’, in actuality we see this as a partnership.
“Double Diamond Delivery and Double Diamond Recruitment will remain as organisations in their own right, although legal structures will place us as part of the Spherica group.
“It’s a no-change position, however we expect to see huge benefits of being part of a larger organisation from a business development and operational perspective.
“The main point to highlight is this secures the future of Double Diamond. The high-quality services for our customers will continue, our existing employee and associate pool will be retained, and in fact is likely to grow with this partnership.”
Olly is delighted to be working with Spherica at a time when the demand for digital transformation, AI and automation is accelerating at pace and an essential requirement for businesses.
“We see a huge opportunity ahead and recognise how closely aligned our visions are,” he added. “Spherica’s investment and support will help us build on what we do best by extending our reach and delivering even greater value to our clients via the suite of services available from Spherica.
“We are massively excited about this development, which will allow us to continue to grow and add value to organisations delivering business improvement through technology on a bigger scale.”
Kay Riley, Spherica’s Managing Director, commented: “This investment represents a key milestone for Spherica. Bringing Double Diamond into the group strengthens our transformation capability and enables us to help more organisations turn technology change into meaningful operational outcomes.”
KBS Corporate’s Will Griffiths was delighted to bring the transaction process to a successful conclusion and said: “I’d like to offer my congratulations to both Olly and Spherica. It’s a great outcome for all involved and I wish them the best of luck going forward.”
