Cube 6 acquired by Owlis Group

Cube 6’s owners expressed the importance of being able to retain their “autonomy” after the IT services company became a founding acquisition of a new technology group.

Dave Garrett and Lynne Garrett incorporated Cube 6 in 2007 and have continued to operate the Colchester-based business ever since. In almost two decades, Cube 6 has built a strong reputation for delivering a wide range of managed IT services.

The leadership team instructed KBS to explore options to secure the company’s long-term future. In a transaction advised by Sean Clarkson, Corporate Deal Executive, Cube 6 was acquired by the newly formed Owlis Group as part of an ambitious buy-and-build strategy to create a nationally integrated IT services platform.

Owlis has been launched by private equity firm Ansor Ventures and is being led by Richard Vogt, who is overseeing the platform’s strategic development and integration having previously spent 12 years supporting the growth of technology businesses.

The group’s vision is to unite high-quality regional providers under a single, collaborative structure. Its strategy is centred on preserving the identity and strengths of each business while enabling scale, investment and enhanced service delivery through shared capability. 

Cube 6 founder Dave Garrett commented: “The structure of the deal works best for our overall ambitions in the short, medium and long term while preserving our DNA. Owlis’ focus on protecting our people and preserving our customer-first culture made the difference.”   

Lynne Garrett added: “We retain the autonomy to lead the business while having the support needed to drive growth and help build a leading IT MSP group.”

Cube 6 is positioned to accelerate its growth as a key regional hub within the Owlis platform, with the investment enabling the group’s companies to serve customers nationally through its network of regional offices, improve productivity and efficiency, and offer customers market-leading service responsiveness and technical expertise.
