Inspection company’s sale passes the test as the “right next step”

Workplace Inspection Services founder Huw Davies has expressed “great confidence” in the company’s future following its sale to WH Scott Group.

Based in Pontyclun, South Wales, Workplace Inspection Services was established by Huw in 2011 and offers engineering inspections to ensure compliance with key health and safety regulations across the UK.

Huw’s original vision was to create an independent and reliable inspection provider, and now he believes the business is poised to continue going from strength to strength under its new ownership.

In a transaction advised by Luke Rae, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, Workplace Inspection Services was acquired by Irish-based WH Scott Group, becoming part of the Metlab business unit.

Metlab are leading experts in the field of independent inspection, non-destructive testing, construction material testing and certification. Workplace Inspection Services’ integration  enhances capabilities by expanding the group’s service offering, client base and operational expertise.

“I firmly believe that joining the WH Scott Group is the right next step for the business, our customers and our employees,” said Huw Davies.

“Their values, expertise and long-term vision align closely with our own, giving me great confidence in the future.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a team. I’d like to thank our dedicated team and loyal customers who have supported us throughout this journey.

“I’m excited to see the company continue to grow and thrive under new ownership, and I look forward to watching the next chapter unfold with the added strength and opportunities this partnership will bring.”

WH Scott Group, backed by investment partner Renatus Capital, is committed to building a market-leading network of companies renowned for innovation, compliance and reliability.

The group’s long-term strategy is to expand its technical capabilities and geographic footprint across Ireland and the UK.

“Over the last 15 years, Huw and his team have built Workplace Inspection Services into the impressive company we see today,” commented Patrick Doyle, WH Scott Group’s CEO.

“We welcome them into the group and look forward to working with them to build on their success.

“This is also a major milestone in the Metlab success story and I believe the synergy of both companies will develop new opportunities for growth, innovation and enhanced service delivery for our clients.”

KBS Corporate’s Luke Rae offered his thanks to Adam Gilbert and Jamie Carrick of AG Corporate Law for their legal support throughout the transaction.

“I’m delighted that the deal has reached a successful conclusion and I wish all the very best to Huw and everyone at Workplace Inspection Services and WH Scott Group for a highly successful collaboration going forwards,” said Luke.
