Elixir Garden Supplies acquired by Origin Enterprises

Industry-leading online retailer Elixir Garden Supplies has become the second company sold by KBS Corporate to international agricultural group Origin Enterprises.

Founded in 2012 and based in Morecambe, Elixir sells gardening and horticultural supplies including fertilisers and compost, weedkillers and pest control, pots and planters.

Offering a focused product range, Elixir has built a reputation for high-quality, expert customer service and an efficient, responsive supply chain, dispatching up to 20,000 orders across the UK every week, 90% of which are own-brand sales.

Elixir’s successful direct-to-consumer model further strengthens Origin’s expanding portfolio within its Living Landscapes division, representing further progress towards the Group’s target for this division to deliver 30% of Group operating profit by the end of FY26.

The acquisition, in a transaction advised on by Andrew Dodd, KBS Corporate Director, enhances Origin’s ability to serve both professional and home gardening customers through a fully integrated supply chain, from raw material through to end user.

Origin was returning to KBS for a second acquisition in just over two years, with Elixir joining Agrigem among the businesses in the Dublin-based group’s Living Landscapes division.
