IT support specialist Sapphire Computer Systems has been found a “safe pair of hands” to continue its success, sold to Project X in a deal advised by KBS Corporate.

Founded in 1992 and based in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, Sapphire offers a range of IT system management, connectivity, support and consultation services.

The company operates across the South East of England and supplies organisations in a range of sectors, including manufacturing, financial and healthcare.

Three of the four owners of Sapphire wanted to explore other avenues and the fourth needed to secure his future.

In a transaction advised by Dylan Bennett, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, Sapphire was acquired by Project X, which is based in London and Manchester.

Project X specialises in acquiring, investing in and scaling established IT managed service businesses, bringing together experience, resources and strategy to help them achieve sustainable success.

Its buy-and-build model combines investment expertise with hands-on operational support, creating a collaborative environment where every company can grow stronger.

More than an IT investment platform, Project X is a partnership built on trust, shared ambition and results. As technology continues to evolve, Project X evolves with it – expanding its reach, driving innovation and building lasting value for investors, business owners and clients alike.

David Hickman, Sales Director of Sapphire Computer Systems, commented: “Project X not only has the right approach to its customers and staff, it demonstrated a safe pair of hands to take up the mantle.

“We were sure Project X would be able to not only continue to supply great levels of service to our customers, but be able to offer a wider range of products, services and expertise.”

In an online review, David also expressed appreciation for KBS Corporate’s role in the sale.

“Our account manager, Dylan Bennett, was very helpful and knowledgeable during the entire process,” wrote David. “This included regular calls, progress updates and help at all stages.

“We certainly felt that Dylan went above and beyond what we expected and when we struggled to understand certain legal stages and the legal jargon that came with it, he was able to break it down into something we could understand clearly.

“Many thanks Dylan for all your hard work over the months.”

Sapphire’s owners were keen to improve the company’s scope by augmenting its range of products and quality of services.

Simon Newton, CEO of Project X, commented: “Sapphire represented a great opportunity to add a well-established business to the group and bring a wider and deeper range of skills and products to our customers.”

Project X also recognised Dylan Bennett, along with their own adviser Ellexan, for the hard work that went into the successful transaction.
