DWM founder entrusts company’s future to new owners

IT and security systems integrator DWM Technical Solutions has been sold to emerging managed services provider entrustIT in a deal advised by KBS Corporate.

Based in Wilden, near Bedford, DWM is an expert consultancy in the infrastructure, security, audio-visual (AV) and IT fields and was founded in 2000 by Robert Munday, who has continued to operate the company ever since.

DWM’s service offering and location were attractive as an acquisition prospect to Ringwood, Hampshire-based entrustIT, which now adds new capabilities in electrical, security, AV and smart building solutions – areas that are increasingly converging with IT infrastructure and managed services – as part of its ongoing national expansion strategy.

entrustIT is aiming to build a strong physical presence in every major UK region, and the acquisition of 100% ownership of DWM gives the company a substantial presence in Bedfordshire, where it already supports multiple nationwide clients.

“We’ve spent 25 years building DWM and I’m proud of what we have achieved,” said Robert Munday, Managing Director. “I now look forward with excitement to working with entrustIT to build the next stage of our business, delivering exceptional service for our combined client base.”

While DWM will continue to operate under its existing brand for the foreseeable future, ensuring continuity for staff and clients, the combined business will deliver a broader service portfolio, enhanced technical depth and faster on-site response through a greater number of regional hubs.

“DWM is a natural fit with our business, strengthening our capabilities in IP and systems integration,” commented Jeff Dodd, CEO of entrustIT. “This partnership expands our reach in the UK and brings our combined team to over 75 people, enabling us to deliver even greater value to clients.”

The transaction was advised by Daniel DiMarco, KBS Corporate Deal Executive, who expressed thanks to Claire Stretton of Higgs LLP for providing sell-side legal advice.

“I’m confident this deal will enable both businesses to go from strength to strength moving forwards,” commented Daniel.
