Birkett Bogmats on solid ground for growth with Teqnion

A company with a “genius” business model has become the ninth company sold by KBS Corporate to fast-growing Swedish industrial group Teqnion.

Birkett Bogmats, incorporated in 2014 and based in Stratford-upon-Avon, specialises exclusively in the supply of hardwood timber bog and crane mats.

The company’s products are used across industries including construction, civil engineering and plant hire, for trackways, access roads, working platforms, jetties and various other purposes.

Birkett has built a reputation for reliability, a commitment to customer service and consistent product quality at competitive prices, becoming one of the market leaders in its division throughout the UK and Europe.

Its business model is “genius in its simplicity”, according to Johan Steene, CEO of acquirer Teqnion, which was making its ninth acquisition through KBS since May 2023.

Fabio Rambelli, who had previously advised on the sales of Stanwell and Nubis to Teqnion, was delighted to have completed his third successful transaction with the group based just outside central Stockholm.

“I’m very pleased that we were able to assist Juanita with her exit plans and I’m confident the business will continue its success story under the ownership of Teqnion,” said Fabio.

“I’d very much like to pass my thanks and well wishes to Juanita and the Teqnion team.

“Furthermore, I would like to thank Harriet Jones and Guvvy Sandhu at Mackrell LLP, and my colleagues Fahad Latif (Transaction Support Executive) and Georgia Rothwell (Research Strategy Manager), who all played crucial roles in getting this deal over the line.”
