Norlin Polymers acquired by Teqnion
Norlin Polymers docks in its “forever harbour”
Norlin Polymers has become the eighth company sold by KBS Corporate to Swedish industrial group Teqnion within two years.
Founded in 1981 by Norman Holland and based in Bolton, Norlin specialises in manufacturing technical polymer compounds for the medical sector.
The company produces bespoke compounds created to each client’s individual requirements through a highly automated round-the-clock heat extrusion process, and benefits from lengthy relationships with customers throughout the UK and across Europe.
Following the sale, Norman Holland’s son, Jonathan, will “continue to wear the captain’s armband”, in the words of acquirer Teqnion, and “lead the company to new heights”.
Teqnion, spearheaded by Johan Steene (CEO) and Daniel Zhang (CXO), has previously bought Stanwell Group, Surge Protection Devices, Nubis Solutions, Avelair, UK Lanyard Makers, Awarded 2U and Merridale through KBS, all since May 2023.
“I’m happy that Norlin has found a forever harbour with Teqnion,” said Norman Holland. “I look forward to continuing to grow Norlin together with Daniel, Johan and the rest of the Teqnion team.”
Jonathan Holland commented: “The team at Teqnion were the perfect fit for Norlin and they share many of the same values and entrepreneurial spirit that we do as a family-run business.
“The acquisition gives Norlin the right platform for its future growth plans and we are excited to be on that journey as part of the Teqnion family.”
Teqnion’s Johan Steene described Norlin Polymers as a “wonderful business that provides mission-critical components, with steady and recurring revenue”.
He added: “On top of that, they have a great leadership team that will take the company to new heights.”
Johan’s colleague Daniel Zhang thanked George Barnes, KBS Corporate Associate Director, who had also advised on the Merridale transaction earlier in 2025, for his work in overseeing the deal.
“Thanks a million, George, for how you’ve conducted the process,” said Daniel. “Your pragmatic, professional and eyes-on-the-prize approach is very much appreciated.”
George was delighted to have completed a transaction which extended Teqnion’s impressive portfolio of UK companies.
“Norlin Polymers provides the highest quality products to its clients across multiple sectors and the acquisition by Teqnion is the perfect partnership both in terms of continuity and the opportunity to expand,” said George.
“Our eighth transaction with Teqnion is testament to their aim to continue to invest in the UK market and their pragmatic approach is as refreshing as always.
“I’d also like to pass on my thanks to the shareholders of Norlin, who were a pleasure to work with.”
