KBS praised for “exceptional job” in Truckcom sale
Transport management software specialist Truckcom has joined a new tech-led logistics group following the company’s sale, advised by KBS Corporate.
Truckcom, incorporated in 2005 and based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, is the developer of a logistics management software platform which enables hauliers to improve fleet tracking, visibility and operational efficiency.
Private equity firm TPA Capital has launched Wolverhampton-based northstarr Group, which Truckcom has joined alongside two other acquisitions as well as TPA portfolio company Pallet-Track.
Led by Stuart Godman, northstarr’s CEO, the group’s structure is designed to enable genuine collaboration across its businesses. It connects warehousing, software, fourth-party logistics capability and the Pallet-Track network of more than 90 independent hauliers, which are not owned by northstarr but are shareholder members.
“We wanted to build a group that gives our shareholder members and customers more tools in their toolkit,” said Stuart. “This isn’t about being a traditional one-stop shop. It’s about having a set of high-quality businesses that customers can lean into when they need them.”
A statement from TPA Capital added: “As investors, we are enormously proud of what Stuart and the team have built — and with continued expansion ahead through both acquisition and organic growth, this is a platform with significant growth ahead.”
Katie Wightwick, majority shareholder of Truckcom, commended KBS Corporate in a five-star online review for our work in overseeing the company’s sale.
“KBS did an exceptional job managing the sale process of our business,” wrote Katie. “I would strongly recommend them.”
