KBS celebrates success on and off the pitch
KBS Corporate has secured an impressive victory at the Bolton Business Fives 5-a-side football tournament, following an unbeaten run in support of Bolton Hospice.
The team won seven matches from seven, scoring 32 goals and conceding just seven across the competition. Their run concluded with a 4-3 win over Sherwin-Williams in the final, rounding off a strong team performance in 28°C heat.
KBS Corporate also picked up several awards on the day, including:

• Highest Fundraisers
• Best Defensive Record
• Player of the Tournament: Elliot Wilkes
The trophy was presented by former Premier League striker and Hull City legend Dean Windass, adding to a memorable occasion for the team. Dean also named Elliot Wilkes as Player of the Final. Elliot finished as KBS Corporate’s top scorer with 11 goals, while Charlie Neville produced the team’s standout goal of the tournament.
The KBS Corporate squad was made up of Daniel Barna, Dylan Bennett, Atif Iqbal, Charlie Neville, Nathaniel Read, Jacob Rigby, Daniel Welsby and Elliot Wilkes.
The team’s results were:
• 6-0 vs SureStore
• 8-0 vs AFG Law
• 3-0 vs NOV
• 2-1 vs Howden Insurance
• Quarter-final: 5-0 vs ESG Global
• Semi-final: 4-3 vs NOV
• Final: 4-3 vs Sherwin-Williams
The event helped raise money for Bolton Hospice, which provides specialist care and support for people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones.
Reflecting on the team’s efforts, Nathaniel Read said:
“We’re proud to be supporting Bolton Hospice through this event. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed. Following the tournament win, an additional £350 will be added to our total.
“It was a great effort from everyone involved and a strong result both on and off the pitch.”
As a result of the victory, KBS Corporate has been invited to the Birmingham National Event, where the team will compete against other regional winners from across the UK.
Elliot Wilkes added:
“As captain, I couldn’t be prouder of what the team achieved. Winning the tournament was a reward for the hard work, commitment and teamwork shown by every member of the KBS Corporate squad.
“More importantly, we had the opportunity to support Bolton Hospice and contribute to a cause that means so much to our local community. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported us, and to the organisers at Business Fives for delivering such a fantastic event.
“It was a great day for football, fundraising and community spirit, and everyone put in a great shift in the hot weather.”
